How to Make a Ring

A ring is a type of jewelry that is typically worn on the finger. Rings can be made from a variety of materials, including metal, plastic, and wood.

If you want to make a ring, you’ll need a piece of wire, a ring mandrel, and some pliers. The wire should be about twice as long as the desired finished ring size. Begin by bending the wire into a U-shape.

Thread the wire onto the ring mandrel, and use the pliers to twist the wire around the mandrel. Keep twisting until the wire is the desired thickness. Remove the ring from the mandrel, and use the pliers to shape the wire into a ring.

If you want to make a ring with a gemstone, you’ll need to set the stone in a bezel. Cut a piece of wire that is long enough to fit around the stone, and use the pliers to create a loop on one end.

Set the stone in the bezel, and use the pliers to crimp the bezel shut. Attach the loop to the ring, and use the pliers to open and close the loop until the ring is the desired size.

Materials you will need

Materials you will need to make a ring include a ring mandrel, a saw, a file, and a ring sizer. A ring mandrel is a tool used to measure and shape rings. A saw is used to cut the ring blank from the metal stock, and a file is used to smooth the edges of the ring. A ring sizer is used to determine the correct size for the ring.
